Garden Discoveries: An Educational Tour

The Outagamie County Master Gardeners Association will be hosting their 4th Annual “Garden Discoveries: an Educational Garden Tour” on Saturday, June 16, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. 

The public is invited to tour six select gardens in the Fox Cities. Each garden offers a unique horticultural lesson and all are truly great examples of sound gardening principals and beauty. 

For a $5 entry fee (to further develop the Community Garden Partnership) and two items of non-perishable food (to be donated to local food pantries), guests will experience beautiful area gardens with an opportunity to learn horticultural lessons during each visit. Admission and food items will be collected the day of Garden Discoveries at the first garden visited.

OCMGA 14th Annual Plant Sale

The Outagamie County Master Gardeners Association will be holding their 14th Annual Plant Sale from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 19, 2012, on the UWEX grounds at 3365 West Brewster Street in Appleton. This sale offers a wide variety of new types of perennial and annual flowers, shade plants, vegetable plants, herbs, and grasses along with garden compost, info demos, vendors, garden treasures, and yard sale items all at reasonable prices. 

Plant Diagnostic Clinic throughout the day – get answers to your general plant questions about care, insect or disease problems 

Garden Info Demos:

9 am: Garden Art/Trash to Treasure

10 am: Decorative Leaf Castings

11 am: Butterfly, Nectar & Larvae Plants

Noon: Native trees and shrubs 

Master Gardeners will be available throughout the sale to answer gardening questions and personally help shoppers select plants for individual garden sites.
